  • You can sign up and log in with a phone number, an email address, or an Apple, Google, Facebook, or LINE account.
  • You must provide true, accurate, and complete information, including your name, date of birth, and profile content, and update it when it changes.

  • If you find that someone else is using your account, email service@lava.tw right away.
  • You may not transfer, rent, lend, or share your account with anyone.

3. Notices

  • The Company sends you notices by app push notification, in-app notification, or the email address you registered.
  • Keep your contact details up to date. A notice takes effect when it is delivered to the contact details you registered.

4. The Service

1. Matching

  • After you create a profile, you can browse other users' profiles and express interest.
  • A match is formed when both users express interest in each other. For SuperLike rules, see Section 8.
  • After a match is formed, you can use chat, quick Q&A, and other interactive features. Browsing, matching, chat, and quick Q&A are free.
  • Matches have an expiry period, as shown in the app. If no date is formed before the match expires, the match ends automatically.
  • The Company uses the information you provide and how you use the Service to recommend matches. Recommendations do not guarantee any particular result.

2. Date invitations and time slots

  • After a match is formed, either user may send a date invitation by choosing a date time slot and paying their own share of the matching service fee.
  • Available time slots start 4 days after the invitation date. The actual available slots are as shown in the app.
  • After you choose a time slot, the system holds it for 20 minutes so you can complete payment. If you do not pay in time, the hold is released automatically.
  • The invited user must accept the invitation and complete payment within 1 day after the invitation is sent. If they do not, the invitation ends automatically and any payment made is refunded in full under Section 6.
  • If the invited user cannot make the proposed time slot, they may propose an alternative. If the sender accepts, the date is formed. If the sender declines, the invitation ends and refunds are made under Section 6.

3. Date location and partner venue arrangement

  • The Company assigns the date location from among its partner venues. Users do not enter their own location.
  • Before the date, the Company tells you the partner venue's name, address, and time by app notification or email.
  • Partner venues are independent businesses. What you order at the venue is your own decision, and you pay the venue directly. It is not included in the matching service fee.
  • The Company may change the partner venue before the date and will notify both users. If no venue can be arranged, Section 6 applies.

4. Arrival and check-in

  • The check-in scan feature opens in the app 30 minutes before the date start time.
  • After you arrive at the partner venue, scan the QR code provided by the venue with the app to register your attendance. The check-in scan is the basis for determining attendance.
  • Once both users have completed the check-in scan, the matching service fee has been fully performed.

5. Icebreaker cards

  • The Company may provide Lava icebreaker cards and other physical interaction props at partner venues for both users to use freely during the date.
  • The content and availability of icebreaker cards depend on what is provided on site.

6. Events

  • The Company may hold events from time to time. Event content, registration fees, minimum group size, and registration deadlines are as shown on each event page.
  • For cancellation and refunds of event registrations, see Section 6, Item 7.

7. Post-date survey and rewards

  • After a date, the Company may invite you to complete a survey. If you complete it, the Company may issue a coupon or voucher. Its validity period and conditions of use are as stated when it is issued.

8. Changes to the Service

  • The Company may add, adjust, or discontinue features. Major changes will be announced in the app.
  • Feature changes do not affect orders that have already been formed and paid.

5. Fees and payment

1. Matching service fee

  • The matching service fee is the amount shown on the checkout page.
  • When you pay: the sender pays their own share when sending the date invitation. The invited user pays their own share when accepting the invitation. For dates formed through a SuperLike, payment follows Section 8.
  • The matching service fee is consideration for the Company's matching, date arrangement, partner venue coordination, and check-in verification services. It is not a deposit under the Civil Code. If either user fails to perform, the rules on doubling or forfeiting a deposit do not apply. All refunds are handled under Section 6.
  • Once both users have completed the check-in scan, the matching service fee has been fully performed and is non-refundable.
  • The order amount is fixed at the time you place the order. Price changes do not apply retroactively to orders already formed.

2. Promotions

  • The Company may offer promotions, discounts, or trial offers from time to time. The name, content, eligibility, validity period, and scope of each promotion are as announced by the Company in the app or on the relevant event page.
  • Promotions cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred unless the announcement says otherwise.
  • The Company may add, adjust, or end a promotion at any time and will announce it in the app. Changes do not affect orders already formed and paid for.

3. SuperLike packs

  • Paid SuperLikes are sold in packs. Quantities and prices are as shown on the checkout page.
  • For other rules, see Section 8.

4. Applying Lava Points

  • When you pay, you may apply Lava Points to cover all or part of the amount due. The amount applied cannot exceed the amount due for that order.
  • For other rules, see Section 7.

5. Payment methods

  • Payment methods are as shown on the checkout page.
  • When you link a credit card or make a payment, you may need to complete 3D Secure verification with your card issuer.
  • Payments are processed by the third-party payment service the Company engages. The Company does not store your full card number.
  • If a payment fails, the order is not formed and the time slot hold is released under Section 4.

6. Electronic invoices

  • Electronic invoices are issued by the system the Company engages and stored in your member carrier.
  • To change your carrier or request invoice details, email service@lava.tw.

7. The 7-day right to rescind distance transactions and its exceptions

  • Under Article 19 of the Taiwan Consumer Protection Act, consumers in distance transactions may generally rescind the contract within 7 days after receiving the service.
  • Under Article 2 of the Guidelines on Reasonable Exceptions to the Right to Rescind Distance Transactions, the following items are not subject to the 7-day right to rescind, after the Company informs you on the checkout page and you give your prior consent:
    1. SuperLike packs: digital content not delivered on a tangible medium. It is credited and available for use immediately after payment (Article 2, Subparagraph 5 of the Guidelines).
    2. Matching service fee: the date is provided at the time slot you chose and at the partner venue the Company arranges. It is a customized service performed at the consumer's request (Article 2, Subparagraph 2 of the Guidelines). Its cancellation and refunds are handled under Section 6.
  • The consent above is obtained on the checkout page by a separate checkbox that is not pre-ticked.
  • For items that are subject to the 7-day right to rescind, you may rescind the contract by emailing the Company. The Company will refund the amount paid within 15 days from the day after it receives your notice.
  • Event registration cancellations follow the deadline shown on each event page. See Section 6, Item 7.

6. Date cancellation and refunds

1. Terms used

  • "Original payment method": a refund to the credit card or other payment instrument you used to pay.
  • "Full calendar days": the number of whole days, counted in 24-hour periods, from the moment you cancel until the date start time.
  • "Cancelling party" and "non-cancelling party": after a date is formed, the user who cancels is the cancelling party, and the other user is the non-cancelling party.

2. Invitation stage (before both users have paid)

  • Either user cancels the invitation: all payments made are refunded 100% to the original payment method.
  • The invited user does not accept or pay within 1 day: the invitation ends automatically, and any payment made is refunded 100% to the original payment method.
  • The sender declines the alternative time slot proposed by the invited user: the invitation ends, and both users' payments are refunded 100% to the original payment method.
  • The match expires before the invitation is completed: the invitation ends, and any payment made is refunded 100% to the original payment method.

3. Cancellation after a date is formed

From when the date is formed until attendance confirmation, the cancelling party is refunded based on the number of full calendar days between the cancellation and the date start time:

Time before the date start timeCancelling party refund
6 full calendar days or more100%
4 full calendar days or more, less than 650%
Less than 4 full calendar days0%
  • The refund amount is the amount paid multiplied by the percentage above, rounded down to the nearest whole NT dollar.
  • The cancelling party may choose a refund to the original payment method or as Lava Points.
  • The non-cancelling party is always refunded 100% to the original payment method, no matter how many days before the date.
  • The Service does not offer rescheduling. To change the date, cancel first and then send a new invitation. The cancellation is handled under this item.

4. Attendance confirmation and day-of-date rules

  • 6 hours before the date start time, the app sends an attendance confirmation asking both users to reply whether they will attend.
  • After the attendance confirmation is sent, cancelling the date in the app is treated as replying "not attending".
  • A user who replies "not attending" does not get their matching service fee refunded. The other user is refunded 100% to the original payment method. The date is cancelled.
  • If both users reply "not attending", neither is refunded.
  • If a user does not reply to the attendance confirmation, the check-in scan result after the date start time controls.
  • The Company may show the other user the reason and message you enter when replying "not attending".

5. No-shows and compensation

  • A user who has not completed the check-in scan at the partner venue within 30 minutes after the date start time is treated as a no-show.
  • One user attends and the other is a no-show: the attending user is refunded 100% to the original payment method and receives Lava Points equal to 50% of one person's matching service fee as compensation. The no-show user is not refunded.
  • Both users are no-shows: neither is refunded.
  • The Company may restrict or terminate a no-show user's use of the Service under Section 10.
  • If you cannot scan because of a partner venue equipment failure or an app malfunction, email service@lava.tw on the spot. The Company will handle it based on your actual attendance.

6. Partner venue unable to provide service

  • If a partner venue cannot provide service for any reason, the Company may change the partner venue and will notify both users.
  • If no other partner venue can be arranged, the Company cancels the date, and both users' payments are refunded 100% to the original payment method.

7. Event registration cancellation and refunds

  • If you cancel your registration before the registration deadline shown on the event page, the registration fee is refunded 100% to the original payment method.
  • After the registration deadline, cancellations are not accepted and the registration fee is not refunded. If the Company cancels the event, the registration fee is refunded in full to the original payment method.
  • If a registrant cancels, their group partners, and any other members who cannot attend because the group falls below 3 people, are also refunded the registration fee in full to the original payment method.

8. Refund timing

  • The Company submits the refund to the payment processor within 7 days after the cancellation takes effect.
  • The actual credit time depends on your card issuer's processing and usually takes an additional 14 to 21 business days.
  • You can check refund status in the app.
  • Refunds as Lava Points are credited immediately when the cancellation takes effect, with an app push notification.

9. Case-by-case handling

  • If a situation is not covered by this section, or you believe the system has made an error, email service@lava.tw with details. The Company may, at its discretion, refund all or part of the amount to the original payment method or as Lava Points.

7. Lava Point rules

  • Lava Point is service credit the Company issues for refunds, compensation, or promotions.
  • Sources: a cancelling party choosing a refund as Lava Points, no-show compensation, and the Company's promotional or case-by-case issuance.
  • Use: Lava Points can only be applied to fees the Lava platform charges you, including matching service fees, SuperLike packs, and other items the Company separately announces. They cannot be used to pay for purchases at partner venues or for any third party's goods or services.
  • Lava Points are denominated in New Taiwan dollars. 1 point offsets NT$1.
  • Lava Points cannot be purchased, transferred to other users, exchanged for cash, or converted into any form of monetary payment.
  • You can check your Lava Point balance and transaction history in the app. The Company sends an app push notification when points are credited.
  • Lava Points are not restored after an account is deleted. Use them up before you delete your account, or contact customer support.
  • The Company may claw back Lava Points issued by system error or obtained in violation of these Terms.

8. SuperLike rules

1. What it means

  • A SuperLike is a way to express strong interest in a specific person. By sending a SuperLike, you commit that if a date is formed with that person, you will pay both users' matching service fees.
  • A SuperLike is your purchase of one date service for that match. It is not a transfer of points or money. The other user owes you nothing in return.

2. Balance

  • Free SuperLikes: 1 is issued every 3 days. You can hold at most 1 at a time. No new one is issued while you hold 1.
  • Paid SuperLikes: purchased in packs, credited immediately after purchase, with no expiry.
  • When you send a SuperLike, free SuperLikes are used first, then paid ones.
  • Once sent, a SuperLike is deducted from your balance. It is non-refundable and cannot be withdrawn.
  • The Company may limit purchase quantities and may require human verification before you can use SuperLikes.

3. Paying for both users

  • When a match formed through a SuperLike leads to a date, the user who sent the SuperLike pays both users' matching service fees, no matter who sends the date invitation. The other user does not pay.
  • This covers one date only.
  • If the sender cancels or is a no-show, the refund is calculated under Section 6 based on the amount the sender actually paid. The other user made no payment, so there is no refund for them. Their Lava Point compensation under Section 6, Item 5 is not affected.
  • If the sender cancels during the invitation stage, or no workable time slot can be found, the sender's payment is refunded 100% to the original payment method.

4. Pack refunds

  • SuperLike packs are digital content. They are credited and usable immediately after purchase and are non-refundable, except where the law provides otherwise.
  • By ticking the consent box at checkout, you agree that this item is excluded from the 7-day right to rescind (see Section 5, Item 7).

9. User conduct

1. Basic principles

  • Use your real identity and recent photos of yourself.
  • Respect the other person's wishes. A refusal, leaving the date, or unmatching is a clear no.

2. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

  1. Sexually harass anyone. Sexual harassment means conduct related to sex or gender, other than a sexual assault offense, that goes against another person's will, including words, text, images, audio, or physical contact that makes them feel offended, afraid, or humiliated.
  2. Stalk or harass. After the other person refuses or unmatches, you may not contact, pursue, or track their whereabouts through any channel. You may not use information learned on a date to harass them. You may not order goods or services on their behalf without their consent.
  3. Take, send, or distribute sexual images of anyone without consent, or create fake sexual images of anyone by synthesis.
  4. Engage in any sexual images or sexual exploitation content involving anyone under 18. The Company has zero tolerance. When found, the Company removes the content, preserves records, and reports to the competent authorities.
  5. Leak others' information. You may not screenshot, repost, or publish another person's profile, photos, chat content, or contact details. You may not give another person's contact details to a third party. You may not use the Service to collect other people's personal data.
  6. Impersonate others, falsify your identity, age, or occupation, or use someone else's photos.
  7. Engage in commercial solicitation, sales pitches, fundraising, lending, prostitution or other hints of a transactional relationship, fraud, or multi-level marketing.
  8. Post discriminatory, hateful, or demeaning speech.
  9. Bring an uninvited third person to a date, or show up to a date visibly drunk.
  10. Operate your account with automated tools, plug-ins, or crawlers, or decompile or interfere with the Service.
  11. Abuse reporting, leave retaliatory ratings, or maliciously cancel dates in bulk.
  12. Engage in any other unlawful conduct or conduct against public order and good morals.

3. Venue purchases and on-site disputes

  • Each user pays for their own purchases at the venue, or the two of you agree on how to split. The Company does not get involved in splitting.
  • For disputes between you and a partner venue, such as the bill, food, or service quality, talk to the venue first. If you need help, you can contact the Company. The Company may help relay the matter but does not take on the venue's responsibility.
  • If you feel unsafe during a date, you can leave at any time, ask venue staff for help, or contact the police. Please report it to the Company afterwards.

4. Content rules

  • Photos and text you upload must be your own or used with permission, and must not contain nudity, pornography, violence, unlawful content, or content that infringes others' rights.
  • The Company may review your content before or after it is posted and may remove content that violates the rules.

10. Reporting, blocking, and account actions

1. Reporting and blocking

  • You can report or block the other user from their profile or the chat screen.
  • After blocking, the two of you no longer see each other, and the match ends.
  • The Company keeps reports confidential and does not reveal the reporter's identity to the reported user.
  • If a report involves offline conduct, the Company may contact both users or the partner venue to understand what happened.

2. Four levels of action

Depending on the severity of the violation, the Company may take one or more of the following actions:

LevelActionTypical situations
1WarningMinor violations, first violations
2Restriction of certain featuresContent violations, repeated minor violations, no-shows
3SuspensionHarassment, false information, multiple no-shows
4Permanent account terminationSexual harassment, sexual images, child-related content, fraud, violence, evading enforcement
  • For serious violations, the Company may terminate the account permanently without going through the earlier levels.

3. Automated actions

  • The Company operates automated detection. If the system detects that your account has multiple unresolved reports, or that your profile content breaches these Terms, it may automatically suspend or terminate the account.
  • If you disagree with an automated action, you may appeal under Item 5, and a member of the Company's staff will review it.

4. Notice

  • The Company tells you the outcome and the violation category by app notification or email.
  • To protect the reporter or the safety of others, the Company may not disclose the specific basis for the action.

5. Appeals

  • You may appeal within 30 days after receiving the action notice by emailing service@lava.tw with your reasons and evidence.
  • The Company will review your appeal and reply by email with the result.

6. Payments and points during enforcement

  • When an account is suspended or terminated, any dates not yet held are cancelled. The other user is refunded in full under the non-cancelling party rules in Section 6. Your payment is handled under the cancelling party rules in Section 6.
  • If an account is permanently terminated, Lava Points and SuperLike balances are not restored.
  • After permanent termination, you may not re-register by any means. The Company may retain necessary data to prevent re-registration.

7. Cooperation with investigations

  • In cases involving sexual images, child sexual exploitation, or other suspected crimes, after receiving notice from a competent authority, the police, or an internet content protection institution, the Company first removes the relevant content and retains the relevant data for 180 days for investigation. During the retention period, requests to delete that data are not accepted.

11. Partner venues and third-party responsibility

1. Partner venues

  • Partner venues are independent businesses. The venue is responsible for its premises, food and drink, service, food safety, and order on its premises.
  • The Company takes reasonable care in selecting partner venues but does not guarantee a venue's quality, its food and drink, or your satisfaction with the venue.
  • Any hospitality or offers provided by a venue are as actually provided by the venue.

2. Third-party services

  • The Service uses third-party login (Apple, Google, Facebook, LINE), payment, SMS, push notification, and other services. Those services are provided by the respective third parties under their own terms.
  • The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. Your interactions with third parties are governed by their terms.

12. Intellectual property

1. The Company's rights

  • The software, design, trademarks, images, text, databases, and matching algorithms of the Service belong to the Company or its licensors.
  • Without written permission, you may not copy, modify, distribute, decompile, or otherwise exploit them.

2. Your content

  • You keep the rights to the content you upload.
  • You grant the Company a license to use, store, reproduce, and display your content, and to show it to other users, for the purposes of providing, operating, maintaining, and improving the Service. This license is non-exclusive and royalty-free.
  • The Company does not use your photos or profile for external marketing unless it separately obtains your consent.
  • This license ends when your account is deleted, except for content that must be retained by law and content already shown on other users' devices (for example, the other person's chat history).
  • The Company may use automated tools (including AI) to analyze your profile content to provide match recommendations. See the Privacy Policy for details.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

1. Nature of the Service

  • The Service is provided as is. The Company does not guarantee that you will get matches, that the other person will accept an invitation or show up, that the other person's information is entirely true, that your matches will meet your expectations, or any outcome of a date.
  • The Company does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Company is not liable for interruptions caused by system maintenance, third-party service failures, network outages, natural disasters, or other force majeure. If a formed date is affected, refunds are made under Section 6.

2. Offline interactions

  • Human verification and the reporting system are tools to reduce risk. They are not a guarantee of safety.
  • Your online and offline interactions with other users are your own judgment and responsibility. Meet in public places, arrange your own transportation, tell friends or family your plans, and keep an eye on your drink and belongings.
  • The Company is not liable for damage caused by conduct between users, except where caused by the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

3. Liability cap

  • To the extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for indirect damages or lost profits arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • The Company's liability to you is capped at the fees you paid to the Company for the disputed transaction, except where caused by the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence, or where the law provides otherwise.

4. Your liability

  • If your breach of these Terms or the law causes damage to the Company or a third party, you are liable for that damage, including reasonable attorney fees.

14. Account termination

1. Deleting your own account

  • You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings.
  • Before you delete, note the following:
    1. Ongoing invitations and dates: complete or cancel them first. If a date is still ongoing when you delete your account, the Company may treat it as cancelled by you and handle it under Section 6.
    2. Lava Points and SuperLike balances: not restored after deletion. Use them up before you delete, or contact customer support.
    3. Matches, chat history, and profile: cannot be recovered after deletion.
    4. Refunds in progress: still refunded to the original payment method under Section 6. Deletion does not affect them.
  • After deletion, your personal data is handled under the Privacy Policy. Some data is retained as required by law or to prevent violators from re-registering.
  • Deleting the app does not delete your account.

2. Termination by the Company

  • The Company may suspend or terminate your account under Section 10.
  • If the Company stops providing the Service entirely, it will give 30 days' notice by app notification or announcement and refund payments for services not yet performed.

3. Effect after termination

  • Section 7, Section 10 Items 6 and 7, Section 12, Section 13, and Section 16 remain in effect after your account is terminated.

15. Changes to these Terms

  • The Company may revise these Terms.
  • For major changes, such as changes to fees, cancellation and refund rules, or your rights and obligations, the Company will give notice by app notification or announcement at least 7 days before the effective date and will state the effective date.
  • If you do not agree with a revision, you may stop using the Service and delete your account before it takes effect. For services you have paid for but not yet received, you may request a refund to the original payment method.
  • If you continue to use the Service after a revision takes effect, you are treated as having agreed to the revised Terms.
  • Revisions do not apply retroactively to orders already formed, unless they are more favorable to you.
  • See the end of this document for the revision history.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
  • For disputes arising from these Terms, both parties agree that the Taiwan Taipei District Court is the court of first instance. This does not affect a consumer's right under Article 47 of the Taiwan Consumer Protection Act to sue in the court of the place where the consumer relationship arose.
  • You may also file a complaint with the Company's customer support, or file a complaint or apply for mediation with a local government consumer service center or consumer ombudsman.
  • If any part of these Terms is invalid, the other parts remain in effect.

Appendix: Framework terms for upcoming services

  • The Company may launch new services or features from time to time.
  • The content, prices, method of performance, and cancellation and refund rules for these services will be announced in the app at launch and are as shown at the time you place the order.
  • Launching a new service does not affect orders already formed.
  • New services are subject to the other provisions of these Terms. If specific rules announced at launch conflict with these Terms, the specific rules control, but they may not reduce the refund rights these Terms give you.
  • Where a new service involves refunds, the Company may refund to the original payment method or as Lava Points and will tell you before you place the order.

Revision history

  • 2026-09-17: This version. Rewrote the sections on the Service, fees and payment, date cancellation and refunds, Lava Point, SuperLike, user conduct, account actions, and account termination. Added the explanation of exceptions to the 7-day right to rescind, partner venue responsibility, and the appendix framework terms. Removed the class action waiver clause. Changed the revision process so that major changes are notified 7 days before taking effect, and preserved the right to terminate and get a refund if you do not agree.
  • 2025-05-29: First version.
